Using Bookprint

So, the latestest fad in cardmaking is that we should all be ripping up our books we don’t want and making the pages into cards.  My first thought: “old grimy cheeto pages from a John Grisham book is NOT gonna make a great card…”  I like to eat when I read.  I don’t read a lot anymore- I don’t wanna have to buy new pants.  Then I found a book the genetics counselor gave me when I was about to have my mastectomy and it was full of all kinds of inspirational stuff and pleasantries.  It was perfect!  It may have helped if I had read it when I recieved it!  I set it aside for the right time and place- I couldn’t picture a card with bookprint AND a stamped image.  Its just too busy.  AFTER all that story-telling, I went to the PaperCrafts Magazine website to renew my subscription and they were having a call for entries for the September/October magazine and one of the catergories was bookprint cards!  I instantly thought of this fan-type layout and got to work!  I cut the quote first and then took 2 pages from the book.  I cut some strips, did some folding and gluing, and there it was!  The cardstock is Stampin Up Basic Black and Certianly Celery.  The ribbon is SU black satin and the button is Sherbet designer from SU.  Other than that not many materials!  How easy!  And no getting mad if you color outside the lines!
