I’m gonna miss these….

I loved all of the Stampin Up grays!  Greys?  I never know…. Susan! I need you!  Which one is right?  I’m a pharmacist with a doctorate and I don’t know if its gray or grey… how sad.  ANYWAY- Stampin Up has come out with their new revised color families and all they have now is Basic Gray… oh there it is on thier website- its gray.  Now we know.  I was so spoiled with being able to pick any shade of gray and now I will only have the one- look out Bazzill here I come!  I used a little of each to make an all gray card to show my sadness for this loss.  Plus I thought it would be ironic to make a somber looking card with a giant ribbon flower to go with this Verve Plain Jane.  I haven’t made one of these ribbon babies in awhile and I’ve discovered this place called The Ribbon Retreat and I ordered 15 yards of gray ribbon on a post-surgical drug-induced shopping spree!  I love this store and think everyone should go there.  The service was great and there are a lot of products to choose from 🙂  Have a good Tuesday!  I’m off to try a new cookie recipe I thought of!

Blast From the Past Blog Hop: July

Its that time again!  Have I mentioned lately that I am IN LOVE with my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kits?  Well, I am.  I’ll be honest.  I don’t own a lot of Taylored Expressions stamps.  To tell the utter truth though, I don’t own a lot of stamps at any given time.  I tend to gravitate more towards sentiment stamps and less towards image stamps.  I am working on this.  I own Copics… See?  I colored today.  SO I used Home Sweet Home again.  There was a sketch this time, but I just couldn’t make it work.  I wanted so badly to use my new Key Ingredients kit and I wanted there to be a big orange bow… it just couldn’t ALL work itself out.  I am constantly giving things away and could use 1000 of these cards.  Really.  So I went this route.  Did I mention I love my Key Ingredients?  I do.  Here is my contribution to the hop (chock full glitzy Key Ingredient goodness!):

To see everyone elses creations, you can either start back at the Taylored Expressions Blog or just “hop” around these great links!

Really Old SFYTT

I have been trying to get my things ready for the next issue of Paper Crafts and I haven’t been making many other cards!  Oops!  I am IN LOVE with the Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kits!  I really just love it!  You get to sample a new DSP without buying the whole pak…. play with new embellishments…. you get the coordinating (mostly Bazzill) cardstock to match your new DSP… I highly recommend it!  Its a present you get every month that you know is coming but it still feels like a surprise!  I got my new July one yesterday and I’m gonna go muck around with it…. This card uses Candied Apple, Hazel, and Choice Buttercream with October Afternoon Fly A Kite and some Stampin Up Very Vanilla satin ribbon.  The sentiment is Verve, I thought the card was a little busy for an image so I went with the Plane Jane sentiment.  I think this card feels like a grandma’s quilt.  I would for sure feel better if I got this card when I was sick.

I Think My Tastes Are Changing

I used to LOVE pink and black together…. granted I was a teenager and thought these colors were elegant together.  You might think this card looks fairly rudimentary and simple to make…. and you are right. but I spent AT LEAST an hour coming up with the combination.  I like the card overall, but it exhausted my brain and I decided that I am not meant to use light pink anymore,  Vibrant colors…. thats what I need.

I Made Pencils

Card Creations: Favorite Occasions is coming out in the Fall (Nov. 16 in case you wanna camp out at Barnes and Noble) and I’m going to have 2 cards in it!  Its so exciting!  This is one of the ones that didn’t make it… Poor little guy.  So cute and no love 😦   Just kidding!  They get tons of submissions and and I am HONORED to have 2 cards selected!  I do love love love this little guy though.  My latest love is October Afternoon cardstock and this one is from the Report Card collection.  I used my Labels 2 Nesties to make the centerpiece with some Very Vanilla Bazzill and Garnet cardstock.  Then I made my little guy pencils using my Word Window punch from Stampin Up!  I definitely wanna make more of them for more projects in the future!  I just cut three windows of each color and used paper snips to make the parts and layer them up.  Enjoy!

I HEART You

Isn’t this sweet?  I have been seeing these little girls walking thru my store in thier little sundresses and these patterns and styles seem to be the trend this summer.  I used melon mambo, tangerine tango, crushed curry, kiwi kiss, and bermuda bay.  All my favorites!  I used a circle punch and cut them in half, lined them up, and put ribbon over the seams.  I love this… so simple, but sweet.  Happy Wednesday.

New Release Tuesday

Its New Release day at Bugaboo!  Today we have a great flower explosion stamp and a cute little squatty santa.  I chose to play with the flower stamp and made this little treat box for one of my co-workers:

I getmilk carton madness every once in awhile and start making them for everyone.  Just fill ’em with candy and you have a great cute little treat!  The template can be found at www.splitcoaststampers.com.  I liked this flower stamp a lot because you could put at much of a little color or pop into it as you want. Click HERE to check out the new releases!
